About Us

At Thrive and Connect, we believe every young person deserves to feel seen, respected, and supported to realise their full potential.

Founded in Cairns in 2024, our work is built on a simple truth: what’s often labelled as “challenging behaviour” is usually an unmet need — for connection, safety, or identity. Too often, systems only respond when things have already reached crisis. We choose a different path.

We develop and deliver programs that support young people to grow in identity, resilience, and belonging. Our mentoring journeys focus on cultural connection, trust, and leadership, supporting young people to reshape how they see themselves and imagine new futures.

We also equip educators, carers, and youth workers with the tools and mindset to respond with empathy, consistency, and cultural awareness.

By supporting both young people and the networks around them, we help create environments where connection is fostered, identity is strengthened, and young people can thrive.

Our Mission

A world where all young people are respected and supported to thrive — not just survive.

Our Vision

To create consistent, culturally grounded, and relational environments that empower young people to reconnect to self, culture, and community, building capacity for lifelong wellbeing and growth.

Our Values

  • Community – belonging is at the heart of everything.

  • Open-mindedness – we listen deeply and respond with empathy.

  • Resourcefulness – we adapt and create solutions that last.

  • Empathy – we see the person, not the problem.

Our Social Enterprise Commitment

We are proud to be a Certified Social Enterprise. This recognition affirms our commitment to trading for purpose, not profit.

Every dollar earned is reinvested into programs that empower young people — building resilience, belonging, and leadership. For our partners and supporters, this means engaging with Thrive and Connect is an investment in sustainable social impact, not private profit.

Why we Exist

Too many young people are slipping through the cracks — disconnected from school, culture, and community.
We exist to meet them before crisis and to walk with them long after.
By building trust, identity, and belonging, we create the conditions for young people to thrive.
